Poll: Evaluating Asset Managers Beyond Performance

There’s no question performance is a key factor in the evaluation of asset managers. But what else matters to asset owners? What are the details that truly set managers apart and help them win clients?

We asked 50 institutional asset owners representing a total of $3 trillion in AUM how they felt about key evaluation factors including client service, investment strategy, firm reputation, reporting, and fees in our latest Clearwater flash poll.

The results showed asset owners are paying attention to managers’ reputations, expect high levels of service, and value industry-specific reporting, among other things.

Survey Highlights

  • A firm’s reputation was important or very important to nearly all respondents.
  • In client servicing, the survey respondents indicated they are looking for an experienced, dedicated, responsive servicing team.
